Ten apartments, four streets, two train stations
Hotels in Dorchester, MA are few. Ten whole apartments with free parking, a 4 to 7 minute walk to a train that reaches South Station in about 20 minutes.
Dorchester is Boston's largest neighborhood, and it has very few hotel rooms. Search for hotels in Dorchester and Google's map comes back with a handful of hotels by the expressway on the east side, then hotels in Quincy, South Boston and Back Bay.
Our ten apartments are in the middle of Dorchester, on the Franklin Park side, in zip codes 02121 and 02124. They are whole apartments, not rooms: your own front door, your own kitchen, and free parking at the building.
If your reason for coming is on this side of the city - family nearby, the zoo, a stay at Boston Medical Center - you sleep where you are going, not across town from it.
This is the part guests mention most. Warner Street and Bernard Street are a 4-minute walk, about 0.2 of a mile, from Talbot Avenue station. Glenway Street and Erie Street are a 7-minute walk from Four Corners/Geneva. Google calls both routes mostly flat.
Both stations are on the Fairmount Line, the commuter rail that runs through Dorchester into South Station. From Talbot Avenue it takes about 19 minutes, and these Boston stations charge the same fare as the subway. From South Station you are in the financial district, on the Red Line, and a short walk from the waterfront.
Jenna, who stayed at 7 Warner in June: "located very close to a direct, quick train into Boston South Station." Michelle, at 7 Bernard in May: "Very convenient to the train station, 20 minutes to South Station."
One thing to plan for: this is a timetable train, not a subway that comes every few minutes. Check the time before you walk over, and check the last train home if you will be out late. One guest at 9 Warner missed it and took an Uber back, which is the easy answer for a late night. If you would rather ride the subway, Shawmut station on the Red Line is about a 24-minute walk, 1.1 miles.
Franklin Park is the largest park in Boston, about 527 acres, and the last piece of Frederick Law Olmsted's Emerald Necklace. The Franklin Park Zoo takes up 72 acres of it.
From 42 Glenway and 143 Erie the zoo is a 17-minute walk, about 0.6 of a mile, along Blue Hill Avenue and Seaver Street. From Warner Street it is about 4 minutes in the car.
Troy, who stayed at 9 Bernard in June: "The area is close to the zoo, Fenway, and many other hot spots."
For a family that means a morning at the zoo, lunch and a nap back at the apartment, and the afternoon still free. The park also has a public golf course, the William J. Devine, and miles of paths.
White Stadium sits inside Franklin Park, about a 24-minute walk from Glenway Street and an 8-minute drive from Warner Street. It is being rebuilt as the future home of Boston Legacy FC, the city's new NWSL team.
The rebuild was not finished in time for the 2026 season. The club has played its 2026 home games at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and at Centreville Bank Stadium in Rhode Island. If you are coming for a Legacy game this year, our Gillette guide has the drive from here. When the club moves into White Stadium, it will be a walk from Glenway Street.
7 and 9 Warner Street and 7 and 9 Bernard Street are a short walk apart, near Talbot Avenue station. 42 Glenway and 143 Erie are a short walk apart, near Four Corners. When one apartment is not big enough, the next one is close by, not across the city.
The one-bedrooms (9W1, 7B1 and 9B1) sleep 3. The three-bedrooms (9W2, 7W2, 7B2 and 9B2) sleep 7, and the Bernard Street ones are on three levels, so expect stairs. The two two-bedrooms at 143 Erie sleep 5 each, and 42 Glenway, with four bedrooms, sleeps 10 on its own.
| Building | Apartments | Sleeps in total |
|---|---|---|
| 7 Warner Street | 1 | 7 |
| 9 Warner Street | 2 | 10 |
| 7 Bernard Street | 2 | 10 |
| 9 Bernard Street | 2 | 10 |
| 42 Glenway Street | 1 | 10 |
| 143 Erie Street | 2 | 10 |
The car parks free at the apartment, every night of your stay.
From our Dorchester apartments it is roughly 15 to 20 minutes into downtown outside rush hour, 15 to 20 to the Fenway area, about 17 minutes to the JFK Library and Museum at Columbia Point, and about 20 minutes to Logan Airport on a quiet day, through a toll tunnel.
Yazmin, who stayed at 42 Glenway, put it simply: "2 parking spaces and within 15 - 20 min drive to everywhere we wanted to visit."
It is not the Freedom Trail. Nothing downtown is walking distance, and Dorchester is a busy, lived-in city neighborhood, not a tourist district. If your trip is two nights for two people, all of it on foot around Faneuil Hall, a downtown hotel is the better answer, and we would rather say so now.
Dorchester earns its place when you have a car, a family or a group, or a reason to be on this side of the city. If you want quieter streets and driveways further out, our Hyde Park apartments are nine more on one street.
You are already in the neighborhood. A whole apartment gives everyone their own front door and kitchen, with free parking for the car you visit in, from one night to a month or more.
Boston Medical Center is a 15 to 20 minute drive from our Dorchester apartments outside rush hour, and the car parks free at the apartment every night.
The Fenway area is roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive from our Dorchester apartments outside rush hour. Leave the car at the apartment if you would rather skip game-day parking.
Our Dorchester apartments are 35 to 40 minutes from Gillette Stadium, on the south side of the city with a clean run down Route 1 and I-95.
All ten are furnished, whole apartments you book by the night, the week or the month, with no lease to sign: a full kitchen, a washer and dryer in most units, Wi-Fi and free parking. Each one sleeps between 3 and 10.
Ten whole apartments on four Dorchester streets, the same ones you may have seen on Airbnb, booked here direct: no service fee, free parking, sleeping 3 to 10, a 4 to 7 minute walk to the train.
Franklin Park Zoo, a 17-minute walk from Glenway and Erie Streets, runs its Boston Lights lantern show evenings through November 8, 2026, and the B.A.A. Half Marathon starts and finishes in Franklin Park on November 8.
