How far is the Boston Convention Center

The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) is now called the Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Center - the same building, at 415 Summer Street in the Seaport. Our apartments are not next door: from Dorchester it is about 6 miles, typically a 20 to 40 minute drive at 8 in the morning, or about 40 minutes by train. The Fairmount Line runs from Talbot Avenue, a short walk from Warner and Bernard Streets, and from Four Corners/Geneva, near Glenway and Erie Streets, to South Station; from there it is a walk or the Silver Line to the convention center. From Hyde Park it takes longer: typically 35 minutes to over an hour by car at that hour, or about 50 minutes on the Providence/Stoughton Line from Hyde Park station. (Times from Google Maps for a Thursday morning in November.)

What you get for the ride: one apartment for the whole group, with a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, Wi-Fi and free parking at the door, instead of three or four hotel rooms.

WE26 Boston, November 5-7

WE26, the Society of Women Engineers' annual conference, is at the Menino Convention Center from Thursday, November 5 to Saturday, November 7, 2026. Many college SWE sections travel to the conference together. A three-bedroom apartment on Warner or Bernard Street sleeps 7 and 42 Glenway sleeps 10, so a section can stay under one roof, make breakfast before the first session, and share one booking.

Automation Fair 2026, November 16-19

Rockwell Automation's Automation Fair is at the Menino Convention Center from Monday, November 16 to Thursday, November 19, 2026. A team that would otherwise book three or four hotel rooms can share one three-bedroom apartment with 2.5 bathrooms, a kitchen and free parking, and drive or take the train in each morning.

WE26 and Automation Fair each list their own official hotels on their websites. We are not part of either event's housing and are not affiliated with the Society of Women Engineers or Rockwell Automation. These are our own apartments, booked directly here.

Which apartment fits your group

Up to 10: 42 Glenway, four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Up to 7: 7W2, 9W2, 7B2 and 9B2, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms each. Up to 5: the two-bedroom apartments at 143 Erie Street, Apt 1 and Apt 1C. On your own or as a pair: the one-bedrooms 9W1, 7B1 and 9B1.

A bigger group can take two apartments side by side: 7 and 9 Warner Street are next door to each other, and so are 7 and 9 Bernard Street.

Going to the Hynes instead?

The Hynes Convention Center is a different building, in Back Bay. From Warner Street it is typically a 20 to 45 minute drive at 8 in the morning.

About 6 miles from Dorchester: typically a 20 to 40 minute drive at 8 in the morning, or about 40 minutes by train on the Fairmount Line to South Station. From Hyde Park, typically 35 minutes to over an hour by car at that hour.
Is the BCEC the same as the Menino Convention Center?
Yes. The Boston Convention and Exhibition Center was renamed the Thomas M. Menino Convention and Exhibition Center in July 2025. Same building, 415 Summer Street.

Yes. Four of our apartments have three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and sleep 7, and 42 Glenway sleeps 10 in four bedrooms. 7 and 9 Warner Street are next door to each other, and so are 7 and 9 Bernard Street.
Is parking free?
At the apartment, yes - every apartment has its own free off-street parking. You can also take the train into the convention center and leave the car at the apartment.
