Dorchester · Franklin Park Zoo · Boston Lights
Whole apartments a 3-minute drive or 17-minute walk from Franklin Park Zoo - for Boston Lights, the BAA Half Marathon and the Turkey Trot. Free parking.
The zoo's main entrance is on Franklin Park Road, just off Blue Hill Avenue at Columbia Road. From our apartments on Glenway and Erie Streets it is a 3-minute drive, or about a 17-minute walk. From Warner and Bernard Streets it is a 5-minute drive, about a mile.
Parking at the zoo is free, and every apartment has its own free off-street parking, so a family can drive over in a few minutes with the stroller and the cooler - or walk from Glenway and Erie and leave the car where it is.
Closest to the zoo: 42 Glenway sleeps 10 across four bedrooms, and the two apartments at 143 Erie Street, Apt 1 and Apt 1C, sleep 5 each. On Warner Street, 7W2 and 9W2 have three bedrooms and sleep 7, and 9W1 is a one-bedroom for up to 3. On Bernard Street, 7B2 and 9B2 also sleep 7. Every apartment has a full kitchen - packed lunches for the zoo, an early dinner for tired children - and the whole apartment is yours.
Franklin Park Zoo's Boston Lights lantern show runs evenings from 5:00 to 10:30pm through November 8, 2026. From Glenway or Erie Street you are a 3-minute drive or a 17-minute walk from home afterwards, not a drive back across the city. Tickets are sold by the zoo.
The B.A.A. Half Marathon starts and finishes in Franklin Park on Sunday, November 8, 2026. Staying a few minutes from the park means no long race-morning drive across the city, and a kitchen for the pasta the night before.
On Thanksgiving morning, Thursday November 26, 2026, the Franklin Park Coalition's Turkey Trot 5K starts at 9:00am from the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse on Circuit Drive. The Coalition calls it the largest Thanksgiving Day race in the City of Boston. Run in the morning, then cook the turkey in a full kitchen with the whole family under one roof.
Zoo New England's holiday ZooLights is at Stone Zoo in Stoneham, north of Boston - not at Franklin Park. Franklin Park's own evening event this fall is Boston Lights, above.
The zoo sits inside Franklin Park, the largest park in Boston's Emerald Necklace, with the William J. Devine Golf Course and White Stadium on its grounds. In late October the park is one of the closest places in the city to see the fall color, and it is on our doorstep.
Great stay. The area is close to the zoo, Fenway, and many other hot spots. The host was also very responsive and helped in any way he could.— verified guest review
